Les gestes
"Mrs. P and Pinky" will always conjure a smile and more than a few sweet memories. So glad we had the chance to know them both; honestly nice people who brought good to their little corner of the world.
During the significant years of adolescence and early adulthood Helen was like a mother to me - I was one of the "strays" lucky enough to wander into the Pinkham household. I stayed a long time and will be forever touched by the love I found there. Helen's endless patience and unfailing attentiveness to family and friends were only part of the reason why she became such an important role model for all of us. I still think of how available she made herself, how caringly she listened, how much she enjoyed nurturing us, how genuinely considerate she was of our every need. With her quiet strength, Helen was always there.
Helen lived her life for others and it gave her gentle soul real pleasure to do so. Lynne, Penny, Patty, and Janice were always the light of her life and seeing them create their own loving families was all the reward she needed. Following Helen's example, the bonds within the extended family deepened with the passing of time and the many milestones of lives well lived. Those last hours with Helen must have sounded to her like all the goings-on around the dining room table on Prince Edward - I'm sure she was shaking her head even at the end. Only Pinky was missing but waited close by for his beloved Helen - however had he managed these many months without her?
I look at the pictures of Helen, and both the cheery one in the newspaper and the lovely nursing photo show the twinkle in her eye and that inner beauty that will forever inspire those who love her. To sweet Helen Dean - thank you for enriching our lives, and know that we continue to appreciate all we learned from you. You gave so much to so many for so long - we wish you a peaceful rest as we hold on to you very tightly among our fondest memories. With much love from # 5.
With deepest sympathy to Penny on the loss of your Mother. You are in our thoughts and prayers
All our love during these difficult times. She was a wonderful Nan. XX
From everyone at Roxon, our condolences go out to Penny and all her sisters.
Nan was the best grandmother a grandchild could ever hope for. I remember getting so excited to visit her, that the moment we would see her house we would sing " I see Nanny's house". This was the part I look forward to most on our drive to Vankleek Hill and it continued to be a tradition until they moved. Visiting Nan's was like a vacation. We always had fun because there was so many new things for us " city slickers" to experience. Staying at Nan's, you always knew that you could go out and play in the snow and have a hot bowl of homemade soup ready when you came in. Nan really made you feel special by placing your latest work of art on her fridge. She was the most caring and loving person I knew and I will miss her dearly.
Rest in peace Nan. You were very much loved and will be greatly missed.
Remembering the nice dinners at Penny's
Mom, I will never forget all the times we shared. You were a very special lady. There will be such a void but you will always be in my heart.
You were a wonderful mom and I wish you happy trails. I will miss seeing you.
