Condoléances
To Penny and Marcel my condolences on the passing of your Mom. I just found out while looking at this web sight for my wife's Mom (Joan Marchant) and saw this notice.
To Lynne, Penny, Patty & Janice and all the grandkids and great ones too. Very sorry to ear about the passing of Mrs. P. I have very fond memories of her from many years ago on Prince Edward. Lots of fun times. Hoping she again meets up with the Hawk to keep watch over you all. Our thoughts are with you.
What I'll miss most about Nan is the way she always put everyone's feelings before her own. Whether it was taking me out golfing on the weekends, letting me have control of the remote in the early days of satellite tv or something as little as lending me her car for a night, Nan would never think twice about not letting me have my way. I looked forward to spending time with Nan on the weekends and it was always a surprise as to what we would be doing when we got to her place. I'll always remember her letting me win at ping pong, stealing sugar cubes from her coffee display, opening Halloween candy on the living room floor, playing in the pool and her hot chocolates with extra marshmallows. I'll miss you Nan, I hope you find Papa and rest in peace.
Love,
Mike
Nan was the best grandmother a grandchild could ever hope for. I remember getting so excited to visit her, that the moment we would see her house we would sing " I see Nanny's house". This was the part I look forward to most on our drive to Vankleek Hill and it continued to be a tradition until Nan and Papa moved. Visiting Nan's was like a vacation, we always had fun because there was so many new things for us " city slickers" to experience. Staying at Nan's, you always knew that you could go out and play in the snow and have a hot bowl of homemade soup ready when you came in. Nan really made you feel special by placing your latest work of art on her fridge. She was the most caring and loving person I knew and I will miss her dearly. Rest in peace Nan. You were very much loved and will be greatly missed.
My sincere condolences to the Pinkham family in the loss of a dear mother and grandmother. Cherish the memories of the times shared with her. They can never be taken away.
Nan,
You were the best grandmother anyone could ever ask for. So many fond memories staying with you and Papa out in vankleek hill, wether it be swimming in the pool, playing with Ginger and Barbie, ping pong with the cousins or hunting groundhogs out back, we always had a blast and were spoiled rotten in the process. As we all got older and move on to adulthood you would always manage to keep the family together, making sure we would all get together at your place for great feasts during the holidays. So many great memories. You will be greatly missed but the time has come for you to rejoin Papa. May you rest in peace.
Dear Janice, Allen, Trevor, Mike, Jen, We are thinking of all of you with deepest sympathy at this sad time. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Lv Ian and Jean
Almost all of my earliest memories involve Nan. She was the grandmother that you hope for every child to have. Nan spoiled all her grand kids and made you feel special and loved almost as though you were her only one. My fondest memory of her was from when I was really little. When Nan slept over, she would sleep in my bed with me. In the morning, she would put on a mini play using my stuffed animals. While I don't remember what the story was about, it's something I will never forget about her. I remember lots of other little things like the way she would twirl her thumbs and how she always held the steering wheel at the very bottom (this is weird and I don't know why I remember it). I remember her cookie drawer always being full and how she scrubbed the heck out of my knee after I fell off my bike. Above all, I couldn't have asked for a better grandmother. Love you, Nan. You really do deserve to rest in peace.
I'll never forget nan turning the heat up in the pool so I could swim in it when we came to visit, taking Katie and I to pick raspberries in the bushes and buying us sugary cereal that we weren't allowed to have at home. Even when she came to our house for a visit, she would always want to make sure you were taken care of.. she would be on vacation and if you said you were hungry she would ask you what kind of sandwich you wanted. She put other peoples needs above her own daily and I'll always remember that.
