Lightle (Spencer), Ruth Ann – 76, Moncton, N.B., died March 24, 2017 at the Ottawa Civic Hospital. Born in Chester, N.S., Ruth was the daughter of the late Charles Spencer and Leonora Spencer (Dillon). Beloved wife of the late William Alexander (Andy). Ruth trained at the Royal Victoria Hospital Training School for Nurses in Montreal Q.C., where she became a head nurse. She later nursed in Oromocto. She was a rare and special woman who will be long remembered for her giving heart, listening ear, sense of humour and selflessness. Her love of sports, knitting and time near the ocean with family were some of her true joys. Ruth will be dearly missed by her son, Howard (Angie), Sudbury, Ont.; daughters, Heidi (Yvon) Blais, Vankleek Hill, Ont.; Jane (Brad) Taylor, North Vancouver, B.C.; grandchildren, Madeline, Megan, Nicole, Patrick, Jennifer, Andy, Emma, Rose, Conrad, Scarlett, Mackenzie and Jacob; only brother, Bob and wife Mary Spencer, Texas; sister-in-law Linda and husband Peter Simpson. Special thanks to her wonderful friends Lou Dickinson and Shirley Adams. In July 2017, the family will hold a celebration of life and scattering of ashes in Cape Breton, N.S.
