Dear Sandra, I am so sorry and wanted to offer my condolences. I can only imagine how difficult this must be for you.

There is no good time or way for someone you care about to die and I am at a loss for words but with this news I am reminded of when my mother passed away. I was at a loss for words then too, but I wanted to share my sadness and express the loss I was feeling. I didn't think anyone would understand my feelings. Although I didn't know your dad well, I know you had a close relationship with him and that you were always talking about something your dad said or did.

I am sorry I won't be able to make it to the funeral to convey my condolences in person but I will be sure to coordinate a time with you. Until then, please accept my sincere condolences and I will call you soon
