Unfortunately I was unable to pay my respects as I only found out today. My deepest sympathies to the entire family as I understand the sadness we feel when we loose a Mother.I didn't know Auntie Cathy & Mom were born the same year, but also departed the same year also. I always fell when a loving couple as your parents, are separted too early during their beautiful live journey the only thought of comfort is knowing they are now back together.
To the Smith family. It was with a heavy heart that I heard of your mother's passing. If I weren't away at the time I would have been there to celebrate her life with you. She was always so nice to everyone, our whole gang included. I'll always remember her playing the organ when filling in for mom, and the church teas at your farm house. You have my deepest sympathy.
Ella, Paul and all of your family, we are thinking of you at this time of your loss. We extend our deepest sympathy and you are in our prayers.
Was sad to hear of Catherine's passing. I have many great memories of the farm, and her warm hospitality. Glad I was able to see her, at her home after the Highland Games this year. Bob, Margaret, Diane, Nancy, and Ella, Bill, and George, you are in my thoughts and prayers. We are blessed to have known her! She will be missed.
Bob, Margaret, Diane, Nancy and Ella, each of you are all in my thoughts and prayers at this sad time. I was thinking about your parents just this morning, before my mother told me about your mother. A Jim Reeves song was playing on the radio which reminded me of travelling with your father in his navy Olds 88. Your Mom and Dad had a Jim Reeves 8-track cassette in the car which he played from time to time. Your parents were so good and patient with me during the summers I worked for them on the farm. I learned a lot from both of them. Mrs. Smith was probably the last living person who taught school at Barb SS No.8. She had such a pleasant demeanor, a wonderful laugh, was musically gifted and was an outstanding cook. It was always a treat to be at the house and in her company. She had a tremendous positive influence on young people, including myself. She was a great neighbour and a terrific friend.
I was saddened to hear of the passing of my cousin Catherine. I'm glad me and my kids had the chance to see her smiling face at the Games this year. It is a smile that we will miss. My family will always have great memories of her and visits to the farm when we were growing up. Mom and I would like to have made the service. Sorry we could not. Our thoughts are with you. Duncan Fletcher
To Catherine's family, we offer our heartfelt and sincere condolences for the loss of a wonderful lady. We deeply regret that for family reasons we cannot attend the funeral service. Claire & Doug.
Dear Smith Family, We are thinking of all of you with deepest sympathy at this very sad time. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Our condolences to Catherine's immediate family in particular George and Bill. I have many fond memories from living on the farm next door in Dunvegan. We are unable to attend the wake or funeral. Bill & Norma
I am very sorry for your loss. Death is our great enemy. However we can find hope and comfort in the words of Revelation 21:4 when "death will be no more, nor mourning, nor pain be anymore..."
I was shocked and saddened to learn of Aunt Catherine's passing. She was such a wonderful lady, my deepest sympathies. She always made everyone feel very welcome when visiting and no one ever left on an empty stomach....she made the best pies! I know my Dad will especially miss his only sister but has lots of great memories to see him through as I know Bob, Margaret, Diane, Nancy and Ella will have as well. Love to all of you.
Such sad news. I have so many fond memories of the Smith family and my time spent at the farm. My deepest sympathy.
Dear Ella,Paul and family: It is with heartfelt sorrow that I extend my sincere sympathies to you on the sudden loss of your dearest Mother. I also send my deepest sympathies to the Smith and Montgomery families. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
To the Smith and Montgomery children and their families: Just a note to let you know how sad I am to hear of Catherine's passing. My memories of her are so many. I was nine when she came into my life - living with us at Chute a Blondeau during the week until Bill came for her on Friday night. I can still see them all sitting at the kitchen table playing cards and eating sandwiches. Even as a little child, she made me feel 'special'. Every year, when I went to Ontario, she made a point of inviting me to lunch - no matter how busy she was. The years fell away as we shared so many memories of those early days. Catherine had such a warm smile and a gracious manner. As I look at her picture now, I can still hear her laugh. Please know that I would so like to be with you right now. I will miss her. Shirley {Smith} Fourney
The Bradford family are saddened to hear of your Mom's passing. Our Dad and Mom have wonderful memories of playing cards and sharing meals with your Mom. She will be missed! Please know that you are in our families thoughts and prayers.
What a surprise to hear of Catherine's departure. We will always remember her for her great generosity, her true smile and her love for Christ. What an inspiration she has been to us and to many. We will meet again when Christ calls us home as He did for her. Our sincere condolences to the Smith, Montgomery and Bradley families.
Just a note to send to the Smith/Montgomery families for the loss of my sweet dear wonderful Aunt Catherine!! She was a delightful woman who I cherished!! I spent my childhood growing up on her farm and with her wonderful 5 children!! She was also our host every summer for the Highland Games in Maxville which would result in a yearly family reunion and musical festivities. The memories will always be fresh! My father (Duncan) will be waiting to play some tunes with you!!! Love and Hugs!
