I was fortunate to know Pat most of my life. Our mother's were sisters and our father's were brothers, so we shared at least 25% DNA. I remember Pat as always being spiritual and always looking for more from her spirituality in order to comfort friends and family.
The one awesome thing about Pat was her cooking! There was one particular dinner party when she, Bob and the kids lived on Gladstone Avenue in Ottawa and Pat had made the most incredible chicken curry dish. It made me a fan of curry dishes to this day.
She and my mother used to love to play Pinochle and my mother spent many a winter evening at Pat's apartment in Vankleek Hill. When Pat moved to Ottawa, my mom would come to my place, but would spend a great deal of time over at Pat's, or Pat would come over to my place and she and my mother would help to clear the dead branches out of my lilac shrubs.
I'm so sorry she was so sick at the end and that she went so quickly after both her mother and mine, just a short 10 months ago.
