Nécrologie de John Stanley Houseman
Houseman, John Stanley
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Stanley Houseman of Vankleek Hill from a sudden stroke. He passed peacefully a few days later on Friday, August 10, 2012 at the age of 86. For 62 years he was the beloved husband and best friend of Catherine (nee Slemin) and loving father of Jon (Denis), Steve and Rick (Louise). John was the proud grandfather of Gordon, John, Jim and Kathleen and is predeceased by his sisters Maude, Barbara and Peggy. At John’s request there will be no funeral and private gathering of the immediate family will be held instead with a celebration of his life to follow at a later date.
John was a cabinet maker, high school teacher, farmer and lumberman. His passions were his family first, and then in no particular order, anything to do with wood and wood working, his cottages the most recent on the Rouge River, Cross country skiing, Barbershop singing and the dogs that were his companion at various times in his life.
The family would like to thank the team at the Hawkesbury and District General Hospital for Dad’s care. Donations, in lieu of flowers, to the Hawkesbury and District General Hospital Foundation 1111 Ghislain Street, Hawkesbury, Ontario K6A 3G5 or to a charity or your choice would be appreciated.
