Smith, Joan November 16,1937- November 12,2016 Peacefully at the Hawkesbury General Hospital after a brief battle with cancer on Saturday November 12,2016 Joan Smith (née Jeanne D’Arc Labre) of St. Eugene passed away 4 days before her 79th birthday. Predeceased by her parents Xavier Labre and Mary Ann Renaud. Beloved wife of the late Lowell Smith. Loving mother of Russell, Caroline (Mario Froment), Donna (J. Charles Ranger), Bruce and of the late Karl. Adored grandmother of Christopher (Chantelle), Amanda (Alex), Kayla (Clayton). Jessica (Peter), Philippe (Mélissa), Marc, Samantha and Dalton (Tianna). Dearly loved great-grandmother of Dylan, Hailey, Benjamin, Myles, Nikkolas, Oliver, Olivia, Evelyn, Atlas and Riley. Dear sister of Mary Rose Bullard, Laura Belle-Proulx (Gérard), Mary Jane Ring and Alfred Labre (Margaret). Predeceased by her sisters Aggie Jane Labre, Annie May Hanson and her brother Alex John Labre. She will be fondly remembered by her sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Relatives and friends may visit at Hillcrest Funeral Home 151 Bond Street, Vankleek Hill on Friday November 18,2016 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Funeral will be held on Saturday November 19,2016 at 11 am at St. Eugene Catholic Church 1108 Labrosse Street, St. Eugene, Ontario.
