Lilias grew up on her parents’ farm near Riceville. Her parents were Guy and Vera (Hobbs) Reid. In 1943-44, she attended Ottawa Teachers’ College and taught school for two years at Breadalbane. After her husband Munro died, she taught in Hawkesbury and Vankleek Hill. Lilias loved helping children learn. In her retirement, she tutored many students in mathematics. Lilias loved music and took pleasure in learning to play the organ and the violin. She enjoyed travel, reading, scrabble and knitting.

Lilias was a resident at The Heritage Lodge and very much enjoyed her time there. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at The Heritage Lodge for all they did over the years. Please consider a donation in her memory to The Heritage Lodge or to a charity of your choice. Also, many thanks to the staff at Hawkesbury General Hospital for the compassionate care they provided.
