Celebration of Life
Condoléances
My sister Carole was so lovable. She had so many attributes: loving, kind, considerate, appreciative, witty, highly intelligent, caring and we took the time to really get to know one another. I am so grateful she was in my life for the time she was. She is unforgettable, in the best way. I feel privileged for all the talks we had in person and on the phone. She was a gift to those who really knew her. I loved making her laugh and brightening her day and she did the same for me. She had an infectious laugh. I wish we had of been closer in age and that I had a relationship with her all of my adult life, because she brought the best out in people that knew her and made life enjoyable just having conversations with her. She loved all her children and grand and great grandchildren. She is dearly missed. I thank God that she was my sister. She never once said an unkind or disparaging word about anyone. I admired that in her.

Many memories of Carole at the lodge. My favourite though would be when she would come to the back when it was quiet and read some of her poetry to me.
I was just 6 years old when I first had to understand death. My mom (Carole) had lost her grandma and was explaining in her own direct way how everyone dies...
Almost instantly I realized that 'everyone' included her!
In panic and full of tears I asked her: "Are you going to die too?"
She hugged me and told me not to worry. "That's not going to happen for a really long time".
That was a really long time ago...
