Condoléances
Our deepest sympathies to Kim, Cynthia, and David and your families, Love Sarah Dagg and Rod McLeod
"We will all remember his smile that could light up the room." Dave's smile did light up the room. And I can still hear his voice on the phone. I remember how he always asked after our mother and my husband's hockey games and he loved to talk about common interests, swimming and exercise, the gym and weights, and then he would say here's your sister. He was a strong man with a gentle smile in his voice, and he always had time to chat. The last time I saw Dave was in the summer of 2019, and I remember when we were leaving I took both of his hands and said take good care of yourself. My deepest condolences to Dave's entire family and friends and my sister Val. He will always have a special place in our hearts and we will always remember him with love in our hearts.
Our thoughts are with you and your family James. May you find peace and calmness tomorrow. Marni and Steve.
Dave was a merry soul whose time I enjoyed thoroughly.
Sitting down for lunch with Dave always brought out his playful side which all reveled in.
Bless his heart and family’s memories of Dave!
My sincere condolences to the family. I had the chance to work with Dave just prior to him retiring. Lots of laughs on the road.
He will be missed.
Be there for one another during these sad times.

Wayne and Daves friendship has endured for 7 decades. Waynes love of hockey partly stems back to the fifties when Daves Dad Lorne, was Director of Recreation for the Town of Hampstead. Lorne, a former Montreal Maroon and Chicago Black Hawk (in his retirement) organized the Hampstead Seniors Hockey Club and Dave and I played with them. What a treat to be able to play with former N.H.L. star players like Kenny Mosdell and other former pros. Dave and I later parlayed the Hampstead connection into part-time extra money by refereeing games at Hampstead park and chaperoning dances at Hampstead School.
Gerry Snyder, one of Lornes cronies, ran a sports shop on Queen Mary Road in Snowden and Gerry invited Detroit Red Wings hockey heroes Gordie Howe, Alex Delvecchio,Ted Lindsay,Terry Sawchuk and Sid Abel among others to sign autographs for the public. As one can imagine, I was over the moon, as Detroit was my favourite team when I was a teen. Lornes contacts also enabled us to play shinny hockey games in the Montreal Forum a fabled shrine in those days.
At adult parties hosted at their family home on Earnscliffe Avenue in Snowdon, Dave would occasionally invite me to attend we found it exciting for us teens to witness the chief of Hampstead Police and other prominent adult friends of his parents in various states of inebriation.
I have Dave Wilson to thank for telling me about the free membership for people who volunteered at the Y.M.C.A. I enjoyed volunteering in the fitness area of the West Island branch for over 20 years until COVID.
Fond memories are triggered by our return to this area, Years ago I would often visit Dave, especially when we could view sports events here that were blacked out in Montreal.
Susan and I have become close friends with Valerie Stonehouse, who was his beloved companion prior to his hospitalizations at the peak of COVID.
To all his family, please accept my sincere condoleances. I have worked briefly with David and enjoyed it. Wishing a lot of courage to all during this difficult time.

My sincere condolences to the Wilson family, especially to Matt and his family. I met Dave in the early 70's when he first arrived for duty in Hawkesbury. He was assigned to walking the streets of Hawkesbury. He would stop in to my place of work and share a coffee and conversation with me. Those were the good 'ole days as they say. He was truly a great guy and will be missed. RIP Dave.
