Nécrologie de William Caban
William Frank Caban passed away peacefully in his home, the morning of Monday, November 13, 2023, at the age of 101. Bill was predeceased by his loving wife of 68 years, Joan (née Matte). They are survived by their children: William Jr (Rebecca), Paul-François (Edvige), Dianne Marie, and Toni (Yves-André). Their beloved grandchildren: Nadine (Paul), Anika, Julie-Christine, Philippe (Melissa) and Justin-Eric (Priscilla) as well as their great-grandchildren: Michael, Conor, Emily and Victor.
Born in Czechoslovakia, Bill’s family immigrated to Canada when he was six years old. In his century of existence, Bill lead an exciting and adventurous life. From a young age, he was inspired to reach for the sky. He enlisted with the Royal Air Force Ferry Command at the age of 21, which lead to a career in aviation as a Professional Pilot and Aeronautical Engineer.
Our father was an inventor and entrepreneur who innovated several modifications in the aerospace industry. Bill was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed nothing more than flying his Cessna 206 up North to fish with his sons and friends. In his later years, our father loved to entertain us with the stories of his many adventures.
Family and friends may visit at Hillcrest Funeral Home 151 Bond Street, Vankleek Hill on Saturday November 18, 2023 from 10 am to 11 am followed by a Service in the Funeral Home at 11 am. Interment Riverview Cemetery, Chute à Blondeau.
