Nécrologie de Rolland Massie

Paisiblement, s’est éteint à la maison Le Palais - Soins de longue durée, Alexandria, le mardi 18 avril 2023, à l'âge de 95 ans. Prédécédé par Claire (née Vachon) mère bien-aimée de leurs trois enfants : Robert (Johanna), Daniel (Jocelyne) et Elaine (Cheikh). Fier grand-père de Joël (Sanja), Matthieu (Marley), Angélique (Nathan), et Sophie-Anne (Mohamad); et arrière-grand-père de Noah, Myles, Susanna, Sophia, Hugo, et Martha. Précédé par ses parents Ovila et de Mamie Massie (née Brunet). Cher frère de Gabrielle (feu Cornelius Willems), Roger (Florence), Jeannette (Yvan Felx), Juliette (Maurice Miron), Jeanne-Mance (Robert Séguin), Claude (Lucie), Hubert (Carmen) et ses deux sœurs Thérèse et Cécile qui l’ont précédé. Ses nombreux neveux et nièces se souviendront de lui avec affection. Rolland a été un agriculteur fier, un travailleur acharné et ce, toute sa vie. Il manquera beaucoup à sa famille et à ses ami-e-s.

La famille et les ami-e-s sont priés de se rassembler au salon funéraire Hillcrest au 151, rue Bond, Vankleek Hill, le dimanche 23 avril 2023, de 14 h à 16 h et de 19 h à 21 h, et le lundi 24 avril, de 10 h 15 à 11 h. Le service funéraire aura lieu à 11 h au salon funéraire. Une réception aura lieu après la cérémonie au Vankleek Hill Curling Club situé au 136 Bond Street, Vankleek Hill et l'enterrement qui suivra la réception se fera au cimetière paroissial de St-Martin-de-Tours au 3395, rue Chisholm, Glen Robertson.

Nous remercions tout particulièrement le personnel de l’Hôpital Glengarry et Le Palais - Soins de longue durée pour les soins merveilleux qu'ils ont prodigués à Rolland. Pour ceux qui le désirent, des dons peuvent être faits à la Fondation de l'Hôpital Glengarry ou au Conseil des résidents du Le Palais - Soins de longue pour ceux qui désirent.

Un arbre commémoratif sera planté en l'honneur de Rolland dans la Forêt de l'Éternité McAlpine , à Vankleek Hill.

Peacefully, at the Palace LTC, Alexandria on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at the age of 95. Predeceased by Claire (nee Vachon) beloved mother of their three children: Robert (Johanna), Daniel (Jocelyne), and Elaine (Cheikh). Proud grandfather of Joël (Sanja), Matthieu (Marley), Angélique (Nathan), and Sophie-Anne (Mohamad); and great-grandfather of Noah, Myles, Susanna, Sophia, Hugo, and Martha. Son of the late Ovila and Mamie Massie (nee Brunet). Dear brother of Gabrielle (late Cornelius Willems), Roger (Florence), Jeannette (Yvan Felx), Juliette (Maurice Miron), Jeanne-Mance (Robert Séguin), Claude (Lucie) and Hubert (Carmen). Predeceased by two sisters, Thérèse and Cécile Massie. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Rolland was a very proud hard-working farmer all of his life and he will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Family and friends may visit at Hillcrest Funeral Home Ltd., 151 Bond Street, Vankleek Hill on Sunday, April 23, 2023 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm and Monday, April 24 from 10:15 am to 11 am followed by a Ceremony at the Funeral Home at 11 am. A reception will be held following the service at the Vankleek Hill Curling Club 136 Bond Street, Vankleek Hill. Interment will be held after the reception at the St-Martin de Tours Parish Cemetery 3395 Chisholm Street, Glen Robertson.

A Tree of Remembrance for Rolland will be planted in the McAlpine Forever Forest, Vankleek Hill.
