Nécrologie de John Jack Kirby
Peacefully at the Champlain Long Term Care, L'Orignal on Tuesday April 4th, 2023, Jack Kirby of Vankleek Hill formerly of Chute à Blondeau passed away at the age of 92. Predeceased by his parents John Kirby and Gurley Wyman. Predeceased by his loving wife Reta Kirby (née Ellis) and his daughter Gayle. Loving father of Michael (Heather), Debbie (Rene), Dan (Laurie), Cathy (Ron) and stepson Donald Good. Cherished Grandpa (Pa) of Amy, Leanne, Teri, Darlene, Steven, Tyler, Andrew, Evan, Chris, and Dan. Great Grandpa to Ashley, Brianna, Doug, Beau, Avah, Myah, Brooklyn, Henry, and Rosalie. Dear brother of Jean Arthurs and Elizabeth Berlinguette. Predeceased by his sister Carol Lee. He will be sadly missed by all including his nieces and nephews.
Jack was an active farmer for much of his life, working on the family farm, and then his own farm. Later in life he spent a few decades snow plowing and looking after the ice at the Vankleek Hill Curling Club. Jack was a social person who loved to play cards, curl (lifetime member of the VKH Club), golf and spend time with his family.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Sunday, July 16th, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Vankleek Hill Curling Club, 136 Bond St., Vankleek Hill followed by a Celebration of Jack’s Life until 5 pm.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Riverview Cemetery would be appreciated. Cheques should be made out to Riverview Cemetery, and mailed to: Michael Kirby, 1005 Pattee Road, Hawkesbury, Ontario, K6A 0E9
