Nécrologie de Michael McKillop

July 12, 1943 – Dec. 27, 2021

Peacefully at the Prescott Russell Residence, Hawkesbury on Monday, December 27, 2021 Michael McKillop passed away in his 78^th year after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He leaves to mourn his loving husband and best friend Trevor Gould and his family Dan and Janet McKillop, Mary and Don Hughes, Eleanor Mazzara, nieces, nephews, and the Gould family. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.

Michael retired from teaching school 14 years ago, a career which he dearly loved. Upon his retirement he returned to university and acquired a license as a Lay Worship Leader for the United Church of Canada. He led worship services in area churches and long-term care homes for as long as his health allowed, again finding this a rewarding endeavor.

Michael and Trevor have been together for over 30 years. During that time, they enjoyed farming together and in later years they took pride in their beautifully landscaped flower beds and productive vegetable garden. They also found pleasure in traveling to places they wanted to see and in just being there for each other.

A special thank you and appreciation to Dr. Maxwell and the third-floor staff at the Prescott Russell Residence for the compassionate and professional care given to Michael during his stay there.

Family and friends are invited to attend a  Memorial Service on Friday, May 27,2022 at 2 pm at the Cassburn United Church 1780 Cassburn Road, L'Orignal, family will be present from 1:00 pm to receive condolences.
