Peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, Claire Bates (nee Marie-Anna Claire Desautels) of Hawkesbury, Ontario. Beloved wife of Douglas Bates (passed April 2020). Proud and loving mother of Darren (Winnabel Walters) of Nanaimo, BC and Andrea (Bertrand Ouimet) of East Hawkesbury, ON. Dearly loved grandmother of Daniel, Sarah, Jacob, and Anthony. Dear sister of Pierre, Liliane, Monique, and Lise. Predeceased by her brother Raymond. Fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, and family in the UK. In respect of Claire’s wishes, a Graveside Service will be held at Barb Cemetery at a later date. In memoriam donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
