Susan, Richard, Chris, Trish and Scott I am so sorry to hear of your Mother's passing. She was certainly a fixture in VKH. When I would visit my Mom, there were numerous trips to the Post Office and ' Farmer's Supply '. I always got a wave and a friendly hello from your Mom. I didn't think Helen knew who I was because I had been gone from VKH for so long. I decided to venture up to the verandah one day to have a chat. Sure enough Helen knew exactly who I was. I was so impressed that she could have a finger on the pulse of the town. She will be sorely missed by those who saw her frequently and those of us who only had the occasional visit. Take care of yourselves.
From the MacDougall’s to the Cameron family, our sincere sympathies.

Although hearts must be heavy with the passing of Helen, I'm sure that many are also celebrating her life well lived. In addition to all the wonderful things Helen will be remembered as were recounted in the obituary, I will also remember her for her quick wit and sense of humour. While sharing an apartment with Trish in Ottawa in the early 80's, I often ended up at the Cameron and MacMillan family gatherings where I was welcomed with open arms, friendly smiles and loads of laughs. It was very clear that the apples did not fall far from the tree. I am forever grateful for those memories. I hope the good memories you've shared with Helen over the years will someday ease your loss. Thinking of you.
Our condolences. Love,
Frances Russell and Keith Palmater in Kelowna, BC

To all fo Mrs Cameron's family, especially to Chris, Bev and the children, my deepest sympathies. Your Mom was a very special lady. One day I was walking down the street and stopped to talk to her. We started talking about food and I mentioned that my Mom was a great baker but she was now too ill to do so and her specialety was doughnuts. well, a few days after, Mrs Cameron came to the daycare with a dozen beautiful donuts for my Mom. This is a memory that I will cherish forever.

Our sincere condoleances for the loss of your mom
My sympathy to all the family!!
My thoughts and prayers are with you all!
May memories keep you strong!!
To all the Cameron kids...some of whom I recall were little devils. I certainly earned the 25 cents/hour babysitting you guys! Your Mom & Dad always gave me a great tip though. Your Mom was always smiling...and those dimples kept her looking young! We enjoyed our visits whenever we returned to VKH to see Mom. Our families were the only 2 English speaking Catholics in town at one time. Helen would say that our families always treated our animals better than the humans...which I still think is a good trait!
Miss not being there to give you each a hug. Cherish your memories of your Mom.
Hugs,
Jill (Hudson) Dakers
How sad, I will miss her. My deepest sympathy to the Cameron family.
Our deepest sympathies to the Cameron family. She had a great life with family and friends.
I was very saddened to hear of Helen's demise.....I have known Helen (and Jack Cameron) for many years...in fact, I also knew Helen's Mother, Father ...and her siblings - Claire, Pat and Jack MacMillan.
Helen was kind, thoughtful, a great cook.... and always had time to share a laugh. She loved her Scottish background, the music, tartans, and..... I'm sure that we will all agree - Helen never ever changed!
VKH will not be the same without Helen Cameron.
Ed joins me in extending our deepest sympathy to the Cameron family. May all the fond memories of Helen assist in your grief.
Shared times, shared memories and shared joys - these special things keep a loved one close.

To the Cameron Clan,
Such fond memories of the Queen of Main St. Helen was always welcoming to anyone who passed by & had time to stop in for a visit. If she wasn't sitting in the front, you could probably find her doing the rounds of the Post Office, Pilon's Bakery or Claire's. She loved people and they loved her. So sorry she's gone.
Janet (Cowan) Martin
So sorry to hear about your Mom, thinking of you all at this time.
My deepest sympathies to the Cameron family. I fondly remember Helen. Helen was a lovely lady. She always had a big smile and welcomed me with a big hug every time I visited her home in Vankleek Hill when I was kid with my parents Ward and Linda Whittingham. I always remembered her home being filled with lots of people and lots of good food. I especially remember her delicious donuts! Also, when I was a kid, my grandmother Rita Whittingham often spoke about her dear nieces Helen and Pat. My grandparents Rita and Ed always loved going to parties and family gatherings at Helen and Jack’s in Vankleek Hill. My family and I also have great memories of the Highland Games in Maxville with Helen and all of the Cameron kids.
My sympathies to all the Cameron’s .
