It is with saddened hearts that we announce the death of Gary Crooks, our beloved father, grandfather, brother and devoted husband. He passed away in hospital on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at the age of 85 and was guided to Heaven by a rare double rainbow that appeared in the sky signifying his transition from the material world to the spiritual world.

He will be forever treasured by his wife Eileen “Dee Dee” (nee MacIntyre), his son Jeffrey (Lucie Nezan), and his daughters, Lorelei (Maurice St. Pierre) and Leilani (Chris Paswisty). Grandpa Crooks will always be cherished and remain forever in the hearts of his grandchildren, Zackery, Austin, Gary (Lisa Lecappelain), Curtis (Rae-Anne Lanningan), Tanika (Randy MacKinnon), Bradley (Paige Lee), and Brittany (Soham Chakrabarti). Forever be missed by his great-grandchildren, Olivia, Kerrigan, Leni and Gavin. Dearly missed by his surviving siblings, Grant (Alice Keen) and Linda Bennett. He is predeceased by his sister Mavis (Gerhardt Neilsen) and his brother Wayne (Marlene Hebert). Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. 

Gary Crooks was the most reliable, honest, pleasant and hardworking man that God ever created, and he will be sadly missed by everyone that was fortunate enough to have known him.

A Private Celebration of Gary’s Life will be held on Friday, October 9,2020 at 11 am at the Vankleek Hill Curling Club. Due to the current restrictions the service will be limited to the immediate family only. The family invites you to view the live webcast HERE from the comfort and safety of your home .

Extended family and friends are invited to join the family for the Committal Service on Friday, October 9, 2020 at 2 pm at the Hillside Cemetery 488 Front Road East, Hawkesbury. Due to Covid restrictions, attendance will be limited, and physical distancing must be respected. If you wish to attend it is mandatory you RSVP HERE or you may call (613) 678-2002.

In memory of Gary, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation, Lung Association or Lupus Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

C'est avec une grande tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de Gary Crooks, notre père, grand-père, frère et mari bien-aimé. Il est décédé à l'hôpital le jeudi 1er octobre 2020 à l'âge de 85 ans et a été guidé au ciel par un rare double arc-en-ciel qui est apparu dans le ciel, signifiant sa transition du monde matériel au monde spirituel.

Il sera à jamais chéri par sa femme Eileen "Dee Dee" (née MacIntyre), son fils Jeffrey (Lucie Nezan), et ses filles, Lorelei (Maurice St. Pierre) et Leilani (Chris Paswisty). Grand-père Crooks sera toujours chéri et restera à jamais dans le cœur de ses petits-enfants, Zackery, Austin, Gary (Lisa Lecappelain), Curtis (Rae-Anne Lanningan), Tanika (Randy MacKinnon), Bradley (Paige Lee) et Brittany (Soham Chakrabarti). Ses arrière-petits-enfants, Olivia, Kerrigan, Leni et Gavin, lui manqueront à jamais. Il manquera beaucoup à ses frères et soeurs survivants, Grant (Alice Keen) et Linda Bennett. Il est précédé dans la tombe par sa soeur Mavis (Gerhardt Neilsen) et son frère Wayne (Marlene Hebert). Ses nombreux neveux et nièces se souviennent avec tendresse de lui. 

Gary Crooks était l'homme le plus fiable, le plus honnête, le plus agréable et le plus travailleur que Dieu ait jamais créé, et il manquera beaucoup à tous ceux qui ont eu la chance de le connaître.

Une célébration privée de la vie de Gary aura lieu le vendredi 9 octobre 2020 à 11 heures au club de curling de Vankleek Hill. En raison des restrictions actuelles, le service sera limité à la famille proche uniquement. La famille élargie et les amis sont invités à se joindre à la famille pour le service de commémoration le vendredi 9 octobre 2020 à 14 heures au cimetière Hillside 488 Front Road East, Hawkesbury. En raison des restrictions de Covid, la participation sera limitée et la distance physique doit être respectée.
