Barton, Rae G. Of Vankleek Hill, passed away peacefully at the Glengarry Memorial Hospital, Alexandria, on Sunday November 16, 2014 at the age of 62 after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by his parents John M. Barton and Edna McRae. Beloved husband of Suzanne Duval. Proud and loving father of Renée, Leigh-Anne and Nathaniel. Dearly loved brother of Irvine (Marion), Lyall (Judy), Nancy McDonald (Tom) and Sharon. Dear son-in-law of Jeanette Duval (the late Ernest Duval). Fond nephew of Eric McRae, Elmer McRae, Freda Simmonds and Eric Barton. Rae will be sadly missed by all, especially by his nieces, nephews and by his many brothers and sisters-in-law. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday November 21, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Knox Presbyterian Church 29 High Street, Vankleek Hill. To celebrate Rae’s devotion and passion for the Toronto Maple Leafs the family encourages you to proudly wear your Maple Leaf jerseys or the team colours. In Rae’s own words “If you wish make a donation to your favourite charity. Better still, find someone less fortunate than you and put some groceries in his cupboard or a few chickens in his freezer.
