Earliest memories of Auntie Doris are those with my Uncle Bill, my cousins, our big family. Over the years those memories come as far as Salt Spring Island where we said goodbye. My sister Nina is good at making memories. We went by bus together to the city to see Nanny & Poppy Bain, Nanny Tranter, and Auntie Doris. I would sit at the kitchen table in the house on Hudson Street as she smiled and spoke in her soft, gentle voice. I would think of just how much she was loved. When my brother Rick wrote she is at peace holding Uncle Bill's urn in her arms, I cried. My condolences to you her family and friends in the loss of a very dear loved one. I am so very sorry to hear about the death of Auntie Doris, but also relieved that her health struggles are over. I know how much she wanted to be with Uncle Bill again. I spent a lot of time at the house on Somerset Road, and I know I was always welcome. You could hear the pleasure and love in Auntie Doris' voice as she sang out your name upon your arrival. And when she asked how you were, her eyes looked into your soul to find the answer; fine or okay was never enough of a response. Thankfully, I have many memories to hold on to.

I am truly saddened to hear of the passing of such a wonderful lady. I have fond memories of Doris and Bill and the friendship they shared with my parents James and Lucy Pelletier. One of these memories was the Wildwood vacations and all the antics that went on with Doris, Bill,the Loaders and whoever else wanted to participate. Doris as well as Bill were a great comfort to my family during our losses. One thing that I remember was her calmness and composure as she said goodbye to my mom. You will have great memories to cherish and I am sure that she will be watching over all her family along with Bill. Thinking of you in your time of sorrow, Lorraine and family

I was sad to read that Doris passed away. Bill and Doris were great friends of my father and mother , Jim and Lucie Pelletier. Memories are fading, but I remember the fun times my parents had with them. After Jim and Bill passed away, Doris continued to be a great friend and support to my mother in her later years. I remember Doris having a calm and very friendly character when they came over for visits or when we met over the years. Its nice to see she had her loving family with her.
