Nécrologie de Claire Hunter

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ms. Claire Hunter, who passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family, on Monday, September 8th, 2025, at the age of 77.

Claire was a devoted and loving mother to Beverly and her late daughter Deborah. She was the proud and cherished grandmother of Kyle (Juli) and Hailey. She will be deeply missed by her siblings Ruby (late Earl), Lily (late Rheal), and Heather (late William).

Ms. Hunter will be reunited in heaven with her elderly, sweet cat, Silver,  who passed away  just a few days ago.

She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Roderick MacRae and Helen Durant, as well as her siblings Howard (Micheline), Ann (Irwin), and Alexina (Arnold).

Despite her illness, Claire found great joy in baking with her grandchildren, treasuring those precious moments together.

A memorial service to celebrate Claire’s life will be held at Hillcrest Funeral Home on Monday, September 15th, 2025, at 1:30 p.m., with condolences received beginning at 1:00 p.m.

In honour of Ms. Hunter’s memory, donations to your local animal shelter would be greatly appreciated.

A Tree of Remembrance will be planted in Vankleek Hill’s McAlpine Forest to commemorate her enduring spirit.
