Nécrologie de Julie Barton

Julie Barton (née MacTavish) of Vankleek Hill, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, February 4th, 2025, at the age of 71.

She was predeceased by her parents, Gordon MacTavish and Shirley (née MacMillan) as well as by her devoted husband, Donald Barton. She is survived by her cherished children, Glenn (Christine) and Sheena (Jason), and her beloved grandchildren, Elly, Ruby, and Rose. Julie was a proud sister to Ronnie, Sherri (Gary), and Holly (Bob). She will also be truly missed by her nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Friends and family are invited to Hillcrest Funeral Home, 151 Bond Street, Vankleek Hill, ON, on Friday, February 14th, 2025 from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. A Funeral Service will be held at St John's Anglican Church, 5845 Hwy 34, Vankleek Hill, ON at 11 a.m. 

Julie’s roots in Vankleek Hill ran deep, having spent over 40 years in the community she grew to love. Throughout her life, she cherished time spent with family, always putting her loved ones first. She had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren, whose laughter and love brought her immense joy. The last few years, home was on her brother’s farm in Puslinch, Ontario where she was able to still enjoy country living and spoiling Harry.

In memory of Julie’s generous and caring spirit, a donation to the Vankleek Hill Food Bank, would be appreciated.

A Tree of Remembrance in Julie's honour will be planted in the McAlpine Forever Forest, in Vankleek Hill.
